Oh my, how could you base on that???. Ramon is the best jockey in the country, he has shown he is the smartest jockey with amazing skills, if you want an example just look at the jockey club 2010 where he guided Heinsfield to the victory, and had plenty of confidence on him and his horse even thought "Blame" with Garret Gomez were coming like a bullet and Ramon didnt even hit his horse. Ramon last year won ALL the Nyra statistics and this year almost did the same, since Jerry Bailey retired i havent seen such a good jockey like Ramon, he deserves the eclipse award in my opinion...
Are you kidding? What a simplistic criterion for determining your choice- money earned per start. Purses are so inflated in so many races that are not that significant; Gomez's agent should get an award, not Garrett.
If you watched Gomez and Dominguez ride together in NY and NJ, you'd see that they are both great jockeys but Ramon is the BEST jockey. Ramon has the athleticism and the greatest foresight and intelligence of any jockey today.
Go to the video tape. Look at the ride that Ramon gives to every single one of his mounts. No other jockey approaches his ability.
I like Gomez, and he has helped me cash a lot of winning tickets, but Ramon just outshines all other jocks.
