I think disabled people are going to get screwed over in general by the reform of the benefits system and changes to DLA and Incapacity Benefit. I'm concerned that a lack of help for those who wish to live independently will mean more people having to live in nursing homes, which in turn is likely to see an increase of 'cowboy' nursing homes springing up where the staff have little or no training and are basically a money making machine.

I fail to see how it cannot happen as the question says, but the next biggest knock will be nursing homes themselve, they will be crowded, not enough of them and more than likely over priced. Victorian Workhouses will be next under this Government

I think life will become increasingly difficult for disabled people to manage, with lack of help/support and funds for their independent living, some will end up having not choice.
