Clocks in academic buildings should be set:
to official NIST time, referenced to atomic clocks in Colorado.
five minutes fast, to keep classes moving along.
five minutes slow, to hide the fact that lectures run long.
to a variety of different times at different points in the building, to add a fun air of mystery to the class schedule.
it's futile to even try to synchronize them, as they're going to run at different rates depending on the local mass distribution, anyway.
as a being of pure intellect, I disdain physical clocks and comprehend the full majesty of time as a whole, dipping into single instants only to answer radio-button polls.
