OK people... it is supposed to be 1000.00 PER PERSON...... not 350.00-400.00 total.. I would like to hear about the 1000.00 PER PERSON and to hear about their experience.

Took my husband to Le Bernadin in 2009 for a big birthday. About $350-$400 total including the wine and had the opportunity to meet Aldo Sohm. My husband still talks about the scallop he had there!

Brought my nephew who is an aspiring chef to a friend's restaurant in Manhattan. My nephew was given the opportunity to prep in the kitchen prior to our meal, and then we opted for the chef's tasting replete with a couple of bottles of top-notch Napa cab. Totally worth the $600 experience.

My wife and I dined at Joel Robuchon in the Mansion in Las Vegas a few months after it opened. I had the grand tasting and she had a smaller tasting. I asked for a wine recommendation and it was spot on. Food was great--we always photograph the courses. The cheese plate was amazing. Overall food was great--some inedible decorations on the plates.

Got last minute reservations at MASA in august of '08
The price of the $100+ "caraffes" (about 4 to 5 oz each) quickly drove up the $500 a seat tab, as did the Kobe I requested (the guy next to me had some), after our meal was officially "over".
I think I asked fir seconds on the baby eels as well. We got out of there for a even 2G's.
Funny part is I totally couldn't afford it. Luckily I had enough credit on my AMEX. Still paying it off, but I don't regret it.
