The pricing plans reflect each other in that you have to pay individually (and thus MORE for each) for data, messaging, and phone service. Verizon or AT&T are the same and ripping us off. That being said, people changing their plan will largely depend on whether the service is better in their local area, but also be affected by the pricing schemes and advertising/marketing and public opinion. I'm going to go with whoever's cheaper, but preliminary analysis is showing me that there isn't much of a difference. :-/

For over 10 years AT&T reception in Palo Alto has been horrible. Verizon works! You would figure that in Silicon Valley with almost everyone on an iPhone, that they could have given us better connectivity!
I already parked my iphone due to service issues and joined my family plan on Verizon (while admittedly suffering on a Droid2). I have no problem plunking down $200 to have the cost savings and iphone functionality without the ATT headaches.
Perhaps I am the exception, but I've been an AT&T customer since 2002 -- iPhone 4 for almost a month now -- and never had an issue with coverage. I used to use Verizon for home internet but dropped them after consistantly horrendous customer service. I would rather pay more and have the quality customer service I've received from AT&T than save and be treated like crap by Verizon.

I am a former Verizon customer who switched to AT&T last year just to use the iPhone. But, also, I travel extensively and really value the GSM-capabilities that the AT&T iPhone allows. There are a lot of problems with AT&Ts U.S. coverage and I can tell that it's not as extensive as Verizon's, but until they have GSM, I'll stick with AT&T. (Significant price differentials could play a role, but I doubt that will happen)

Yes I will have an iPhone that actually works as a PHONE! Finally an end to drop calls and terrible coverage!

I care more about price so whichever is cheapest. AT&T is fast enough and I don't think the Verizon phone will be better

The more important question is how many non-iphone users will get one and switch to Verizon?

It depends whether the Verizon iPhone will handle GSM for me when I go abroad.
