Do you stock up on groceries when a storm is coming?

I live in Minnesota and people here still run to the grocery store when a storm is forecasted. I find this behavior hilarious. We've been here almost 18 years while there have been a few times when the weather conditions kept us home, we've always been able to get to the store, work, school, whatever, within a day. I think folks actually hope they will be snowed in just to get an Adult Snow Day.

During the 04 hurricane season we were hit with a series of hurricanes, one right after another. The first few days, we cooked our frozen foods (burritos, Lean Cuisines, etc.) on the smoky joe.

The days before the storm, the stores were sold out of everything. Now we have a stockpile of nonperishables and batteries in our pantry.

You have to be a rel moron not to stock up on essential groceries with a major storm coming, especially with the news outlets screaming incessantly about how bad it will be.
It's a bit disingenous for those same news outlets to ridicule those who fall for their rhetoric.
