What do you see as the most appropriate response to the shooting spree in Tucson, Ariz., which killed 6 and injured 14, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords?

My thoughts are as such; This is after listening to rhetoric from both sides, pro and anti gun as well as the mental health issues. The man had a history of trouble which was not borne out until 4 days passed. He was troubled and the authorities did nothing to have him examin ed and/or arrested. Sheriff Dupnik did nothing to take a closer look at this person but yet defends him and points fingers at the public at large, and the politicians who really needed the pointing. They should have advised the authorities as to his REAL actions instead of trying to minimize his propensity for violence. Secondly, in terms of the gun isue; Let it not be said that politicians arent opportunists! For one, Ms. McCarthy and her ilk like Messrs Boxer, Finestein were the first to jump on the band wagon with repeated gun restraints. If one watched the news one of the subduers had a pistol but was able to and NOT anxious to use it, also, high capacity magazines do not allow one to "spray bullets", the trigger has to be pulled for it to shoot. A 33 round magazine is wrong, maximum is 30! Further, others who had weapons on them did not seek to discharge them for safety reasons given, primarily the fear of hitting innocents. Further, Ms. Giffords is a shooter herself and an NRA member. Her husband early on mentioned that there was no reason to fix blame on the gun owners, the rightist politicians and tea partiers as he was pegged as a madman from te beginning. Further again; the Liberal left points fingers at Ms. Palin for her "target" or "crosshairs" seen on her map during elections, they have selective short memories they had "bullseyes" on their map. By the way, those "sights" on Ms. Palins map was also a STANDARD SURVEYORS MARK IF ONE CARES TO INVESTIGATE. Seems that the liberal left stepped on their own tongue again when they screamed religious discrimination about the Blood Libel. Ms. Giffords as well as one of her staffers was in fact Jewish! Also, if anything this was a blood libel against Ms. Palin as she called it like it was many times and they now have a plethora of statements to accuse her of. Thats their modus operandi. Of course, the J/N being liberal leaning would not entertain the Journalistic duty by only publishing the liberal side of things. I have read the papers since this has happened and only one pro-gun article was published instead of an even number allowing for "peaceful discourse."
If this article is published, my heartuy thanks go out to the staffers for giving reason and "peaceful discourse a chance.
