I'm with Brandon on this one. My VFFs are my go-to shoe, as well, although I've been trying out the huraches lately and I'm finding those pretty cool, too.
When I have an injury (I also practice Mixed Martial Arts) I sometimes go back to wearing by Aasics, but only if I need the temporary support.
I'd prefer barefoot, but it's just not applicable a lot of the time. I love my Vibram Five Finger Bikilas though, and they've held up pretty well to the pavement. They are my go-to running shoes!
