loved Steven Tyler. J.Lo is bringing fashion back to Idol. Randy, well. Somethings never changed, just get thinner. Loved the TV time for people moving through to Hollywood versus the "look at mes." Yeah. Loving Idol more than ever but still miss my Simon. Funny, I did not think of him one time last night until the end. LOL JB

I thought Stephen and J-Lo were good.
I missed the good talent, will make
    sure I watch more tonight.

Thought it was great. Stephen was the star, Jen and Randy better pick it up if they want any of the spotlight. I haven't watched Idol for a couple seasons but I'm looking forward to this season with Tyler.

Loved it! Steven tyler was enjoyable to watch, and his comments were constructive. It was obvious that he and J Lo were in the music/entertainment business and knew what they were talking about. Randy was the boring one, but he's never been "the one to watch". I'll keep watching. No one can tell what the talent will be like - they keep some of the best faces hidden until the end of Hollywood week anyway.

Really liked the new judging panel. They were critical without being cruel. They were succinct and clear. It was a good vibe. Talent was better. We actually got to see MORE talented auditions than the train wrecks. That was a pleasant and happy surprise.

Simon who? I REALLY enjoyed the new judges -- so much more entertaining, more positive energy. The ratings may have been down because there were so many of us who thought the new AI was going to be boring. Thanks to the new judges, I for one was most pleasantly surprised. I watched the old AI during the final weeks; I'll probably watch the new AI from beginning to end. Great job in selecting new judges.

I have watched AI for a longggg time, I was not sure how this season would go but what a PLEASENT suprise, what breath of fresh air the new judges have brought. Love it!!!

The judges were much better than I'd expected. I think it's a refreshing change. I like the mixture of new (J-Lo and Steven Tyler) and old (Randy & Ryan). I thought the contestants (though young) were overall better than last year's. Can't wait to see how the season develops!

The first thing I said to my wife when AI came on was "I want Simon". I could just imagine or visualize him staring at some of the contestants with that pencil in his mouth.
But then something very unexpectedly happened. I became intrigued by the contestants and it seemed like the New judges....while not Simon......were not only fascinating in their own ways, but also more like the kind of people who you would want judging you. Lets face it, Simon was much more critical and mean spirited than he needed to be towards young people who havent achieved his 200 million dollars a year income.
So overall I think that it really comes to light that the real stars of AI are the contestants and that yes..there is life after Simon. The world is still turning.

The show seemed to be all about JLO and TYLER - you could tell that right away from the promo shots. The people auditioning were so mediocre that it was almost boring. I hope the talent gets better in the other cities.
