Hi everyone! Just a comment on these comments. Reprehensible! I have dined many times at the Palace. I find it delicious, friendly, and caring about my every wish. What is going on? Some of these comments are very childish. I for one voted because I want this chef to stick around. He creates scrumptuous meals for me when I am there. The least I can do is vote for him. Keep it up Chef Salazar. I appreciate all of your hard work and that of your excellent staff.

  • R - 13 years ago

Howard, you might want to start looking for a job, you're not going to be employees much longer

  • Mike - 13 years ago

You got me! Don't care. I just think it is funny to watch you all get so fired up!

  • J - 13 years ago

Mike you are giving your self away about who you are. That is not very smart on your part haha

  • J - 13 years ago

Mike---obviously you are an employee at the hotel, you should probably pick your words wisely, im sure your immediate bosses are looking at this thread.

  • mike - 13 years ago

Ok A if you are sooo great at your job why are you still in Cincinnati and not in a real city, at a real restaurant, and why are you not the Chef?

  • A - 13 years ago

I've been around long enough to know that every chef is crazy. Jose is a baby deer compared to the previous chef. I have never had a problem with him...probably because I don't suck at my job!!

  • A - 13 years ago

Hey Mike-Maybe you should find something to do with your life. Clearly you don't have anything promising in your life if a poll on polldaddy.com has you this upset and bitter.

  • mike - 13 years ago

And PS John McLean, I have heard you talk soooo much shit about him! You only care because it will make you more money.

  • mike - 13 years ago

Hey Kathy, Have you ever worked in a kitchen? I doubt it. You don't know anything about this piece of crap you are so excited about!

  • john - 13 years ago

Now that Jose has won, everyone come enjoy his cooking at The Palace Restaurant this weekend!

  • Kathleen - 13 years ago

Actually Cincinnati's chef is just better. But yes all the others need to stop crying because it's done. We won.

  • Mike - 13 years ago

I am sick if this loser, Jose really takes this.At least if he does he will hopefully leave this city!!! Please leave, no one here that knows you would ever vote for you or want you to stay, maybe Denise? You are a total worthless piece of Columbian trash!!!!!

  • D - 13 years ago

Cincinnati is behind Jose! What a push!

  • A - 13 years ago

People need to stop crying...Cincinnati's marketing is just BETTER!!!

  • John - 13 years ago

There are 6 minutes left!!! Cincinnati show your love and vote!!!

  • A - 13 years ago

Well when you are on a tv show and win no doubt you will have millions of people on your side. But I'm voting Salazar.

  • Dylan - 13 years ago

Go Cincinnati!!!! Queen City Rules!!!! Even if we don't beat Izzard, that's o.k. She was miles ahead in notoriety. Thank you Jose Salazar. WE LOVE YOU!!!!!! Dylan and Heather. We will be dining there for your Irish Tasting Thursday coming up on ST. PADDY'S DAY!!!!

  • kathleen - 13 years ago

Chef Salazar is fantastic and his votes are climbing because he has a whole city behind him. celebrate our own in Cincinnati.

  • A - 13 years ago

Hmmmmm...crazy how all votes stopped for Stephanie once people thought she was cheating.....kind of weird.

  • AE - 13 years ago

    Bob Jones-
I believe you meant to say "people can WRITE programs to do that stuff". Clearly, you aren't WRITING any programs. I find it hard to believe your claims when you can't differentiate between "right" and "write".

  • Bob Jones - 13 years ago

Jose doesnt even cook original recipes. Plus the only way to come from that far behing like he was has to be cheating. Get with the program people. People can right programs to do that stuff. All it takes if for one person to like Jose then set it up to run to keep voting. Cant even win it fairly. What a disgrace.

  • Ap - 13 years ago

People need to realize that Chef Salazar is a chef at a restaurant that is an hotel. He is in charge of the Palace, the Cricket Lounge, Room service, and all private events and banquets. He has more people eat his food than any of you can realize.

  • Bill Daniels - 13 years ago

Looks like Salazar is gaining systematic increases again...

  • Ron - 13 years ago

I too work for Chef Salazar and he demands so much from his employees because he will settle for nothing less than the best. The people who work for him do so beacuse they want to be apart of his perfection; no one is being held against their will. What the people sitting in the Cricket don't hear are him laughing and enjoying himself 95% of the time in the kitchen. He's trying to make a name for himself and that only comes through hard work.

  • john - 13 years ago

I work for chef Jose and he may have his angry moments, but his tactics weed out the employees who really do not want to be there. Only the strong survive at The Palace, and that is why the restaurant is on the rise.

  • Richard B - 13 years ago

Jose is the true meaning of a jerk. I too was having a drink in the Cricket and could hear him swearing and yelling! After I heard how he treats his staff I will NEVER dine at The Palace again. This guy is a snake and I would not put it past him to cheat, or the hotel management to promote his cheating. He is a nobody! Who cares about some crappy French onion soup, I have had it and it is JUST NOT THAT GOOD. If this guy wins I will be sick!!!

  • Dan - 13 years ago

I am voting for the only chef I know on this poll - Jose Salazar. I'm sure the others are quite goood but with the exception of Izard I don't know them. That's not to say I wouldn't enjoy the other's food. Been wanting to take a trip to experiment with it. Clearly there is marketing going on with all these chefs - or at least I hope so. Email campaigns and other get out the vote methods are par for the course. Izard has a larger base of support, so naturally she is going to win, but Cincinnati did a get job and blanketed the area with promotionial material for Chef Salazar. I would love to try all of these chefs based on what I've read of their food alone.

  • Derek - 13 years ago

Izard has a huge following on Facebook and twitter, plus her restaurant is booked 3 months out. People have been all over twitter today rallying for her, and honestly, based on food alone, she deserves it. Did you guys see that review in this months Saveur? Go Izard!

  • Bill Daniels - 13 years ago

I think Salazar's people are trying to deflect away the fact that they've been cheating, perhaps setting up Stephanie?

  • Josh - 13 years ago

I agree that Izard has a large fan base. However, she has suspiciously jumped 6% since I looked at this in the morning. Salazar has also increased by about 2%. I've been refreshing this page a lot in the last 20 minutes and while it appears that Salazar has stayed constant, Izard has continued to increase like clock work. Perhaps Bulkowski should be declared the winner?

  • Larry Jones - 13 years ago

To be honest, this whole things appears to have turned into a crock. I think Bulkowski won the thing outright, fair and square, before the cheating started. Salazar's people should be looked at very closely.

  • Randy Subramany - 13 years ago

I also received a very kind email from the Palace asking me to vote. After a wonderful dinner at the Palace a few months ago, I was more than happy to show my support for Salazar and for the Cincinnati region. Good Luck Salazar!

  • Paul - 13 years ago

I think the Iron Chef or whatever name is Izzard is unbeatable. Too much exposure for the others to handle. She was a star already and she's hardly new; but nevertheless I cast my vote for Salazar. Great food. Maybe one day he can be on "Top Chef" and compete with the others. He certainly deserves too.

  • Michael Mcintosh - 13 years ago

I got a nice email from the Palace asking me to vote. I liked it when I dined there, and thought Chef Salazar's food was stellar. I'm proud to support my regional Chef. The one with the clear advantage is the Chef that isn't new at all. Izzard. She was televised, I believe, and known before the others. I'm sure all these Chefs are fantastic, but I know Salazar's food. It's terrific. Kudos to Salazar and thanks for the email!!!

  • Bob McWhorter - 13 years ago

Perhaps leaving the voting platform for this prestigious award up to polldaddy was a mistake. The company's system appears top be completely unprotected from rampant and obvious manipulation by simple computer programs. I thought Salazar was the only one cheating. Now there's no way of knowing whats real.

  • AP - 13 years ago

Well nevermind about Jose...but how did Izard get up 3-4% in about 45mins

  • john - 13 years ago

Stephanie Izard also just jumped quite a bit. From having not moved to she was winning about ten minutes ago.

  • very concerned - 13 years ago

In a perfect world were everyone tells the truth and no one lies that would be correct, but the voting system only tracks IPs and does not have an ACL based on that list. I will not divulge anymore information about the flaws in the open voting system, but Jose is exposing them and it is quite sad. I hope someone is watching this so they can go back through the logs to see an acurate timeline of the events.

  • John - 13 years ago

It says that votes are only being tallied per IP address. 1 vote/computer no more. To me that means that if a voter places 100 votes on 1 computer, polldaddy will only read 1 vote. This removes cheating. Or am I wrong?

  • very concerned - 13 years ago

Jose is cheating, its .01% every 1 minute. Someone please kick him from this competition!

  • Who is Jose? - 13 years ago

Well I figured out by refreshing the polls every minute that Jose jumps about .02 % each minute it doesn't take a genius to figure it out. And I think it is funny that Tom commented just 30 seconds after I posted last time, if I had to guess I would say that comment is coming from the same IP address that the votes are coming from.

  • Tom Osterman - 13 years ago

The Palace has always had great chefs and Salazar may be the best. People who live in this region know who and where the great chefs are.

  • Who is Jose? - 13 years ago

This Jose Salazar jumped up from 10% to 14% over night hmm that's a lot of votes for a Sunday night. he was at 2% for 11 days and in the last two days has jumped 14%. It's obvious he is cheating. There are no publications of him anywhere, his dish is French Onion soup, need say more? Just keep an eye on his votes it jumps every 5 minutes the same percent like clock work!

  • Concerned Voter ! - 13 years ago

I think the rate that Jose Salazar is picking up votes is suspicious. I've never seen any press on Salazar, so I wonder where all this support is coming from all of a sudden.

  • Mike Brearton - 13 years ago

Chef Salazar in Cincinnati is FANTASTIC@!

  • Joy Adams - 13 years ago

A dinner at June makes you wake up and say was that real or did I dream it? Chef Josh is a true creative Genius everything is his own creation from beginning to end. What he has brought to Peoria is bold and daring, he has also paved the way for future chefs with his mentoring. There is a new excitement among the local organic farming community as he promotes their hard work with his Beautiful plates of food.

  • Take the fap back - 13 years ago

    It's Sean. dick.

  • Fap at Shawn - 13 years ago

All I know is I saw a picture of one of the Goats cooks and I'd hit it.

  • Jake - 13 years ago

I did the Chef's Table with Chef Jose Salazar last night - wonderful experience, and great culinary creativity. He got my vote too.

  • Michael - 13 years ago

LOL. I'd say that Jose is a "one-man gourmandtropolis." I live in Cincinnati and he did French last month and, quite appropriately he's doing Irish the next. He is definitely worth the trip.

  • Dawn - 13 years ago

I'm amazed at how many of these chefs themselves have learned the trade from the Great Chefs of two or three generations ago. Jose Salazar, whose receiving my vote, for instance, and a couple of the others cut their first chops - literally - under the guidance and supervision of Thomas Keller. Also, amazing how many of them - even though they've traveled far afield - began in the much larger metropolitan areas like New York. I think these chefs are probably as good as any of the past - but I've experienced only 3 of them - all good - but for my money my trip to Cincinnati to dine at Chef Salazar's Palace Restaurant Cincinnatian was divine. I went on a tasting night when he was doing of all things - believe it or not - Polish. Then I found out he does a different ethnic/regional menu every month along with his quarterly Seasonal and Holiday menus. I mean, seriously, this Chef Jose is a virtual metropolis serving up both his and the rest of the world's menus on his own and he's doing it in Cincinnati! Bravo!!!!!

  • Karletta - 13 years ago

I love Chef Bulkowski! If I take, or if someone takes me to dinner, it's REVOLVER or nothing!

  • carol - 13 years ago

I have eaten @ the Revolver multiple times over the last several years. The food is consistently amazing and the wine is always a fine compliment to the menu. Chef Bulkowski has revolutionized the restaurant industry in a small Midwest town and shows no sign of letting up! And for that, his patrons are grateful!

  • Joanne - 13 years ago

chef Bulkowski's food and creativity are amazing. Best food ever.

  • shawns mom - 13 years ago

shawn i told you to have respect to others. but that person is a big cry baby so dude really grow up. >:(

  • Shawn - 13 years ago

    dont cry about it dude

  • Mary Parker - 13 years ago

I'd like to know why some of the contestants poll %'s never move, even when I know they are getting votes. One of the things that make you go "Hmmmmmmmm?"
