Would you support the formation of a neonatal national certification board that was independent of the American Board of Pediatrics?

I think Board Certification should be Lifetime only. Whether or not a physician keeps up on continuing medical education and practices within the standard of care for his/her field is the role of the States in licensing and regulating the medical profession and that of the hospitals and medical facilities where the physician has practice priviledges. The Board of Pediatrics requiring/pressuring Lifetime certified physicians to subscribe to MOC and retake the Board exam can only be seen as a power move to exercise more control over physicians and to bring in significantly more revenue to the Board. These motivations are not laudable or to be condoned, but are contemptible and to be condemned and resisted.
