I was diagnosed the end of sixth grade, but was not told I had it because of parental fears of labeling and medicating. Of course they were told then that I'd grow our of it in the later 1960's. I inquired of them for years, learned that my childhood mental health records from testing were destroyed at 21 when I didn't come for them, and only after rediagnosed at 50 was a previous diagnosis acknowledged by them. They only want to talk about what I have accomplished and they believe I'm living well enough, so they still are keeping secrets. They helped me with school and personal living skills and felt that if I could marry and keep it together to keep a husband I was well enough off and don't need any other information. Challenges with memory may not yield as many answers still. I'm so grateful for not being so much in the dark now from sources like yours. Thank you.

I was diagnosed at 8yo and again at 20yo. There were no options for these ages listed... I tested at the same levels both times, the ONLY difference was my reading level was higher.
