I was hoping that more people would've voted to bar the public employee unions at federal level, and allow the states to decide amongst themselves how to go about it. If we bar PEUs at all levels, progressives/socialists will just cry about how if they'd have fought violently enough, the union protests would've made the GOP capitulate, and that discontent will eventually put them back into power, and the next time we see history repeat itself vis-a-vis expensive PEUs, it'll be MUCH worse than what we're going through now.
I say let the states decide what to do about it. Democrat-controlled states will always be on the verge of bankruptcy and have a lower standard-of-living, and it'll serve as a shining example as to the fact that progressivism is anything BUT a disease. Gotta give the left enough rope to hang themselves, right?
Caveat: there's also a chance that Democrats will flee their poor states and invade rich conservative states, bringing their destructive voting habits with them. The forces of stupidity are fierce and large in number, and they'll do anything to win. We just can't catch a break, can we?

The unions used government employee dues to buy the Democratic Party. Now the unins do not have to bargain with the peoples representatives in government--they just tell all the democrats what to do regardless of the effect on the taxpayers and voters.
Vote the rich union thugs out

Regarding education and to combat the monopoly power of teachers' unions, vouchers are needed, as is competition in the form of more charter and private schools. Let performance and profit guide the way, not political clout or taxes. Students and teachers would be much better off.
