Really interesting experiment. I voted for the portrait format as it focuses on the 'drama' of the picture with the vanishing point (is that the correct term?) on the path taking us deeper into the photo. It also emphasises the fence shapes and the fork in the highest tree which are all on the right. The portrait version misses some detail on the left of the path but to me it's not particularly interesting - tangled branches and bushes. I'd love to discover why some visitors to your blog prefer the landscape version - it may be I'm missing something!
