Agree with jerry, Bob is great but Rod is hard to beat on this one.

Seger's version is much closer to the original by Tom Waits, both lyrically and emotionally. Stewart's version is more commercially polished and melodic. Both are great in their own right.

Rockin' Bob Seger does this song a little too slow; I'd bet that's why Rod Stewart is running ahead in the poll. Bob should try doing Rod's Motown Song!
