Not cheating. it is still a skill. Not just anyone can do it. and then you still have to know how to mix colors and apply them for a satisfying image...shading, values etc are all skills. When I was in college in the 70's the artists were doing the Marilyn Monroe and tomato soup cans of Andy W. and then doing their own idea by flashing the picture by projector onto their canvas or wall and then spray painting it and whatever else they did. Another thought is that if using a projected picture to get the painting moving along more quickly then you would get a more satisfied customer...you would be able to art more and improve and it looks like a win-win situation to me. In comparison we use calculators and computers to do all sorts of designing and math and calculations..does it make the calculations any less acceptable becasue they weren't all done out by hand using one's head? of course not... we are all flying by doing 10 times the amount of stuff done 50 years ago because of progress.
