Does the ability to be productive and work "anywhere" with smart devices have any value to you?

Yes, I can certainly see the advantage of being able to work on a smartphone or tablet, expecially if I can work around my families schedule

I see some advantages but I think that most people are just trying to get "out" of work with these fancy gadgets

Nah, this Internet thing is just a fad and won't last very much longer, so back to my desk and cubicle I go
