it's about personal liberty ,if YOU can't eat a peanut or dont like Em. you had better be the one not eat them and Quietly ignor others that can enjoy them. you have the right NOT TO EAT them. BUT you do not have the right to force every one else to restrain from enjoying them BECAUSE YOU CAN"T.

My younger brother has a severe peanut allergy, so I learned early how serious this allergy can be. I'm very disgusted at how some of these parents are acting. If you think this isn't a big deal, talk to someone who has a peanut allergy. Talk to several someones, because it's not the same for everyone. Talk to the families and ask them how scary it is. It's becoming a more common allergy and I'm so glad that people are paying attention. There was no such thing as a "Peanut-Free Zone" when my brother was a kid.

Personally, i am disgusted with these parents protesting at a school which has as peanut policy. The school/schoolboard has the option to any substance that is a risk to their students. They have been stacked with your childs welfare and well being while the child is in school. I have been in many workplaces which have banned peanut products to the point you are sent home without pay. It is quickly growing to the point these types of policies are going to be everywhere. Same idea with smoking in workplaces and schools except this smell can kill someone in minutes after a single.

Peanut allergies are not like most allergies you can take a reaction just by walking down a hall behind someone that happened to eat peanutbutter 20 min ago. Schools in my area have a ban on peanut products as do some of the businesses in my area. why do people feel they have a "right" to do something that will harm or take the life of others. pocket knives are legal but they are not something allowed in most public schools, just because they could be used to hurt someone, peanut allergies are no different a good nose full of peanut butter can kill someone as easily as a pocket knife or even a gun. Personally i don't want my child's sandwich to hurt anyone around him much like i don't want other children to bring harmful products around my child.

Hey i have a good idea lets just wipe down desks with posion ivy extract because it is a cheap good cleaner... i happen to know my child is not effected by it so i think it is a great idea... peanut allergies are no different except reactions for peanuts are often more severe.
