I absolutely loved the musical episode. It had the right balance of music and acting. I didn't think it was distracting at all. I bet those who did are casual watchers. I appreciated the producers/writers taking a risk and giving us something a little different than we're used to. And everyone sang great.. Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice are my guilty pleasures and I watch them religiously every week.
