Wow. Wow. You sound so silly. Look at you calling the kettle - FAG. You're probably on the downlow too, or rather the uphigh, because you sound like a total fruitcake. And by the way, it's HOLIER. Learn how to spell. Bench for the season....you are a real idiot.

  • susie - 13 years ago

It pisses me off that Kobe thinks he's wholly than thou...he's a punk, faggot himself. 100k isn't enough. He should be bench for the season....he's on the down low himself.....he's an insult to the NBA.....he's the faggot no RESPECT to the Ref's.....

Jolie - (STFU???) - your ignorance is showing!!! The 'N Word' defined - Slang: Extremely Disparaging and Offensive . a person of any race or origin regarded as contemptible, inferior, ignorant, etc. Sounds like YOU, definitely not me. And you need to stop trying to offend me - race is NOT THE SAME as homosexuality!!!!!!!!!! You don't choose your race. Step off, you can't handle my intelligence.

  • s0calb0rn - 13 years ago

Really? C'mon people, he's only human. Any regular person would do the same or worse when they are mad. Celebrity or not, we are all still humans.

Maybe Prince Kobe should not be fined or suspended, but what really appalled me was the anti-gay slurs on this blog (closet are we?). Jason, you want the NBA to fine people for being gay? Under what authority (other than your self-righteous bigotry)? Mephii, does your desire to "protect" your daughter get enhanced by allowing her to hear anti-gay rhetoric? Maybe we should "lighten up," but, believe me, a white basketball player WOULD be suspended for using the "N" word. You can use all of the derogatory and bigoted words that define YOUR group (like "white trash"), but you don't have the right to decide that other people should not be offended. If I call another Italian-American a "Dago" or "Wop" that might be OK (even if it perpetuates stereotypes), but I sure as hell get offended when someone of a different ethnic background calls me that. Unlike you illiterates out there, this is not the same as my pushing my "Italian-Americaness" on other people or cramming it down their throats. It's called mutual respect, a quality that is becoming increasingly in short supply.

I love how women are defending him. But the minute you call another woman an c*nt or a wh*re, they are ALL up in arms and offended. And to Joshalyne, I bet you would be offended if someone called him the N-word. So STFU!

  • Martha - 13 years ago

That is the equivalent of me being upset and offended when a coach calls his team "ladies" and wanting an apology... Ridiculous!!!

  • Smitty - 13 years ago

Lakers are playing very bad basketball right now. Horrible as a matter of fact. Perhaps all of the gay bashing has something to do with a feeling of inadequacy on the part of Kobe and his fans. Hopefully Laker fans know the definition of inadequate or this post is not worth my time.

  • LakersLove247 (Joshalyne) - 13 years ago

AND ANOTHER THING - Kobe was not EVEN on the court when he said it either! If the cameras weren't all up in his nostrils then it wouldn't even be out there like that. Let's get back to some real issues people.

  • Joshalyne - 13 years ago

Daodmac - I agree. I, however, do not fall into your category of hatred and bigotry. You ARE a homosexual and it is unnatural and wrong BECAUSE it is unnatural. Bottom line. Just because you're 'nice' doesn't mean you're going to heaven - if you even believe there is a heaven. You're using Jesus Christ's name in vain. Another commandment broken. May God help you.

  • Daoudmac - 13 years ago

I'm gay and I voted for a fine. Just don't say that word on TV or in public Kobe. Everyone has said it but not everyone is Kobe, viewed and adored by millions. He needs to be responsible for his words, thats just the way it rolls with me. However let me just add that any harm to the LGBT community that could have come from a Kobe type saying that pales in comparison to some of the comments on this site. Such hatred, such insane gnashing of words and trolls spewing and just inciting hatred is repulsive. Jesus people, stop, scroll up and down and read what is written here under a cowardly pseudonym. Would you stand by those words with your real name? Your family, friends, loved ones, coworkers knowing you incite this open hatred and bigotry. Would you be ok with everyone knowing you said this here?

  • LakersLove247 - 13 years ago

Are you really serious???? Race and Gender are NOT THE SAME as HOMOSEXUALITY. GET THAT THRU YOUR THICK SKULLS HOMOSEXUALS. GEE WHIZ.

  • LakersLove247 - 13 years ago

I agree with Jason. "Wrong" is an interpretation. It may have been wrong for him to speak out like that, but it was not wrong for him to get upset, in fact, it is natural. However, it is WRONG and obviously UNNATURAL to be gay - yet gays have SO many rights. It's stupid and ridiculous. The world is a confused mess.

  • GG - 13 years ago

with out offending anyone this is a SPORT when you play a game there is so much stress involved
that you don't thing before you talk.....
lets be sirius here, is very easy to talk from home siting at the table.....
don't you have a better think to think about it??????????????

    GG

  • fag - 13 years ago

It's our word, and Kobe can't use it. Equating that ref with me is insulting, not to him, but to me. Why does everyone expect gays to "lighten up" but still crucify racist and sexist language? We deserve the same respect.

  • jason - 13 years ago

Why the phuck would you suspend or fine kobe for saying that, the dude was mad..He got a technical foul for it.Cmon homos u really think we should fine him,You think what he did was wrong being gay is WRONG we should fine u faggs..

  • gpg - 13 years ago

There is nothing wrong with what Kobe had said. Anybody is entitle to say anything. It is normal out of frustration. I am gay myself, I don't see anything wrong with what he said. Last nights calls by the refs were not fair to the Lakers. I am a Spurs fan and I can see the way the refs favored the Spurs. That Bennie ref never liked Kobe... These refs just calls anything they want and most of their calls are one sided.

  • Strong Man - 13 years ago

@joshy, You're a child molester!!!!!!! Stop fondling little boys balls

  • Strong Man - 13 years ago

@jargoun, you're right hatred and bigotry should be resolved by way of moral force! But calling
someone a name such as you faggot or whatever else is not bigotry or hatred; it's a heat of the moment reaction. Kobe did not say"I hate gay people". One X-NBA player/sports commentary
guy,by the name of Tim Hardaway, actually made that statement on national TV. So please stop comparing name calling to Violence, hatred and bigotry! Gays were never forced to work as slaves, denied rights because of their color. You all have chosen that type of a lifestyle, so all this civil rights BS needs to be stopped!

@-40 year Laker fan Kiss my ASSS! Wait a minute, your gay, i will pass! ROTFLAYGA

  • joshy - 13 years ago

YEA Right! if a white guy called someone a nigger they would be crucified. I'm sure kobe doesn't like being discriminated against. call him a no class nigger and see if he likes it. maybe then he'll understand. btw im not gay or black

  • MEPII - 13 years ago

Why get so upset about a word, if a white person were to say nigger on television the replies from the press would to be stop being so sensitive its just a word but why do homo's get so offended when someone comments on what they are. If your a faggot or queer you're just that why be upset about it if your not gonna hide it or try to change yourself (and by that I don't mean becoming a bigger FREAK and getting a sex change). According to my law its not okay to be gay and I don't like them...maybe Kobe Bryant doesn't either, maybe he does not want images of homosexuality exposed to his family cause I know for sure that I don't want them exposed to my infant daughter now or when she gets older.

  • Annie - 13 years ago

I def think this is being blown out of proportion. We all say things we don't mean when we are mad. I don't think that he was being literal. He was upset...he is human and I am sure he regrets saying it since it has blown up so much.

  • Jo Blow - 13 years ago

...this is ridiculous. In the heat of a game, and out of passion you say stuff...I said worse just watching the game on tv....

  • Rey - 13 years ago

What's the big uproar? Seems the media (and NBA) are as afraid of Homosexual Rights groups as they are of Muslim terrorists! In the heat of the battle we all say things out of the norm. He explained it, so let it go. Report some REAL news you guys!

  • -40 year Laker fan - 13 years ago

Calm down, you don't need to spread hate. That's pretty ugly and you just sound stupid.
Would you like it better if Kobe used a racial slur, instead?
You guys need to grow up, and learn some tolerance.
I love Kobe, but he needs a little self control when he has
an off night or bad call. Name calling is embarrassing, period.
Using an insult is even worse.

  • nash - 13 years ago

Koby still thinks he can't be touched. He paid millions to keep a hooker quite. He got rid of hall of famers Shaq, Garry Payton, Karl Malone, and Coach Phil Jackson for awhile. His name calling is a "hate crime" for anybody else. He needs to be fined AND suspended. He's NOTING off the court. He actions needs to be delt with hoping he'll grow up and teaching the Kobe-zombies not even the Home coming queen can get away with this.

  • jargoun - 13 years ago

As a gay male, I voted for nothing to be done. Hatred and bigotry should be resolved by way of moral force, understanding and compassion (not fines). For those commenters who spew out vitriol, you should know that your language and insults reflect more on your own lack of character and intelligence than on the LGBT community. We don't want your kids to be gay, but consider what you should do as a Good Father if your child were gay. You would love and accept him as (s)he is and raise them to be a good person-- who doesn't insult people who are different from him/her.

  • Strong Man - 13 years ago

I know this will sound typical, but this Faggot thing is bigger than Kobe! These nut swallower s want our kids to be just like them, FAGGOTS! It would be no human race if everyone was a nasty assss faggot. I mean, it's not healthy for a man to enjoy having his anal cavity penetrated, that just stinks!

  • Ave - 13 years ago

Cry baby as faggots....you know he didn't mean it!!!

  • Jeff Bennett - 13 years ago

This guy's a father? This guy's a role model? This guy is a ignorant thug with athletic ability.

  • Yvette Jiminez-Way - 13 years ago

Wow...Seriously??? A fine or suspension? So, they are going to stop all cussing in the NBA are they?? We all know he didn't mean anything by it. Kobe was frustrated and called him a name...like we don't all do that when we're frustrated. I think I've called the refs worst at times!! Does the NBA and GLAAD really think that he KNEW the camera was on him. It was a mistake. The fact that it's in an article in the LA TIMES is bad enough. Let's not make a mountain outta mole hill.

  • Strong Man - 13 years ago

I agree 100% with Mr. Segette! Stop acting Like FAGGOTS, you balllickers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nick Segette - 13 years ago

You guys are acting like a bunch of FAGS! Nut up you Pussies. It's just a word you GAYBUDS!
