Yes. Such a huge lapse in judgment as Ralston's does not deserve to be feted as a brave and miraculous story.

No. Terrible things happen all the time and we can't control them. We should celebrate Ralston's triumph.

The whole question's dumb. I just like to watch good movies without obsessing about their human implications.

If I could be the heroic toast of the world and see my life in a movie, I'd cut off my arm too.

or maybe EXPLORES a bad decision? Many bad decisions are well worth exploring, for their theatrical and educational value. And of course there's a lot to be said for educating others out of their own impending stupid choices, like hiking alone without a phone or notice to anyone else.

Even though we didn't watch it, I don't believe 127 Hours GLORIFIES a bad decision. I think it EXPOSES a bad decision and may one day help someone who decides to go out hiking for the day.
