I do not believe she stole the necklace either. I think she is getting a lot of attention just because she is Lindsay Lohan and she IS being treated unfairly. In my New England community, the Mayor's wife was caught red-handed shoplifting at a very well-know chain store that boasts a "no tolerance" shoplifitng policy but she was allowed to be picked up by hubby instead of the ride in the police car everyone else gets and instead of facing charges, she was able to manipulate the system through a "show cause hearing." Karma was the Mayor's wife's undoing; even though she got off locally, when she pulled the same stunt in Florida, no one cared that she was the wife of a New England mayor. Charges were filed and they stuck! The point? There is a double standard in law enforcement all over the U.S. and Lindsay is getting rough treatment because of it.

I lived in VENCIE, Ca. Recieved my first and last D.U.I. there in 06. Placed on $100,000 BAIL. Was escorted to prison by the 'kind' Santa Monica peace officers. (you can be in one store and it's Venice, across the street it can be Santa Monica, Ca.) I'ts against the law to place an individual in prison for their first D.U.I. charge in California. The D.A. in Santa Monica, the same court house Lindsay goes too decided to 'free' me on ZERO bail because the police were in the wrong. In retrospect I 'stupidly' returned to Venice, CA. (not a good choice to attempt to remain 'clean in) I was constantly harrassed by shopkeepers and the police. L.A.P.D. would decide to search me at their whim, go through my purse looking for drugs or alochal to 'bust' me. While they did it, I was placed in handcuffs which stopped crowds of people. (Everyone who receives a D.U.I. in Ca. are put on a 3 year probation, not just Lindsay.) I'm known in Venice and it's not the place to be when one is on probation. In Venice, there is a long boardwalk and once I appaulded street musicians. They saw me, called the police and said, "I stole $80.00 dollars from them." Tip jars rarely have over a dollar in them." I was handcuffed, placed in an L.A.P.D. car and I watched them go through my purse from their rear view mirror as they ignored calls coming in from domestic violence, shootings etc. I was told to give them $80.00 which they had already taken out of my purse and the money was on the ground under their car or I could go to jail. I said, "keep my $80.00" and pointed to where four $20 dollar bills were on the ground. The officers proceeded to ask me if they could drive me home! I declined. I've remained, 'clean.'
My point to people all over the world commenting on Lindsay is this: What has happened to her and still is, has happened to me. I don't believe after living and knowing Venice and Los Angeles, 'well' she's getting 'special treatment'. If anything she's being overused as an example celebrites aren't given 'special treatment'. I don't believe she stole the necklace because I've been in the same jewerly shop and it's too tiny for the owner or shop keeper not to see her allegedly 'take it' and immediatly call L.A.P.D. (Venice is their jurisdiction) In my opinion the law is using their power to make an example out of Lindsay. It appears she has not been drinking. I don't know too many people with an addiction that wouldn't be driven back to it after this ridiculous necklace allegation and I think it was done for the shop owner to make money off her. Why people think she needs to go to jail when she's been clean for months I don't understand. Most of them have never been to Southern California, or rationally realize how celebrities are treated.
I VOTED for her to GET OUT, if she can!! She wanted to go to N.Y. but the law in California keeps her there.
I pray she stay's alive through out this.
Disapearing can be one's best revenge.
Return when people have moved on to their next 'target.'

Me? I left not only Venice.
    I left the United States.

She needs to find the right direction before returning to Hollywood daisy-fresh without resorting to the chaos surrounding her all over. I hope she goes to church daily for guidance when she has the proper time.

She needs to step back and figure out life as best she can.
She's had an emotionally charged life to date and starring in movies or TV now with no other choice is ridiculous. She is a talented and beautiful young woman who has her whole life ahead of her.
She just needs to get herself under control before a future is available to her. Because truly, she is way out of control and few corporations would want to handle the messes she makes of herself and her life choices.
