What Should Father Pfleger Do?

Pfleger does not belong in the Catholic priesthood. He does not seem to realize that in the United States there is supposedly a separation of Church & State. He wants to be in politics so he should leave the priesthood & go into politics.

As a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago, Fr. Pfleger is under the direction of the local bishop, Cardinal George. While St. Sabina has had a unique pastorship with Fr. Pfleger, other parishes and pastors are expected to abide by term rules. Serious thought should be given to a successor pastor who can carry this parish even further into the 21st century. We pray that Fr. Pfleger will think about his parishioners and the future of this parish. We pray for the many faithful members of this parish. May God watch over everyone involved in vital love.

I don't believe the Cardinal or the Catholic Church would care one bit if Father Mike was not st5anding up and putting not his word but the Word of God on the line for the Black community. I don't believe it is possible for a church that supported slavery now gives a fig about what happens in our community. Father Mike is an embarrassment to the church for he puts in their face daily God's Word and Will, not the churches and for that he has to go. I also resent the placement of a Black priest which the Cardinal made a point of mentioning his race. I guess he figures by placing this Black man in the position the community will be silent and accepting. That in itself is proof to me the Cardinal has no communication, concern or care of the area the church claims to want to serve. Enough Cardinal, stay on the North side and leave God's children to the man God wants and the community wants and needs.

I have had 4 different pastors. As you get use to one it always hurts to loose them but that is the way it is suppose to be and when you become a priest you know that to be the truth. Unfortunately, Fr. Pfleger has a very big ego problem. He believe that St. Sabina cannot exist without him---untrue! Parishioners rally around their new pastor because they love their Christian community which is even a bigger reality than a pastor. I say shame on Fr. Pfleger for not being Christian but feeling like a god. Strong words but I believe Fr. Pfleger is harming St. Sabina not helping.

There should be a "none of the above" option, and an option to remain a Catholic and not accept the suspension quietly. The above 3 options would be quite acceptable to the bishop and remove the controversy from the public eye- just what he wants.
