Gotta place my vote for Jason's Hallelujah - it was beautiful.

Castro's Somewhere Over the Rainbow may be my favorite Idol moment ever. But I did love Hallelujah, too, so he gets my vote here.

Jason Castro's Hallelujah was a special moment when he first performed it and when he repeated the moment during the finale. He has grown stronger with it over the years, but nothing will ever take away that element of magic we experienced during "8 boys" week.
Now that was a true moment on American Idol. Surprised not to see SOTR on here as well.
For me, season 7 was special. Loved those contestants.

I love Jason Castro (he's my favourite past Idol contestant) but I didn't think his Hallelujah was that great. I prefer the original version of Hallelujah, and I would have preferred someone with a stronger voice to sing it.
I've listened to Jason Castro's studio recordings many, many times (but I haven't seen his live performances because I didn't watch that season of Idol). 'Fragile' & 'Over the Rainbow' are my favourites, but I like a lot of his other songs too. I'm not impressed by what I've heard from his post-Idol album, but hopefully he'll release a better more 'authentic' album soon...

Constantine performed Hallelujah during a concert tour in Feb of '08. If you check youtube for it, you'll see he did that song better than Castro, and it was before Castro sang it on AI.

I remember both performances and this is a tough choice! But I'd have to go with Constantine's Boheimian Rhapsody. It was the whole package. Constantine's song could have easily been a single, whereas Jason's was a little shaky and pitchy. I've rewatched both many times over the years, but the tape I recorded BoRhap on is grainy because I've watched it so much. :)

A blow-out for Jason Castro. One of the most memorable moments ever on the Idol stage. Also catapulted Jeff Buckley's cover to the top of the charts on I Tunes.
