MAYBE i could see David Cook's Billie Jean winning out over Jealous Guy. but the fact that it's THIS song (which is great too, by the way) convinces me that it's the zealous Cookie fans who will not be outdone. because clearly Jealous Guy is the better performance of the two.
This is an American Idol performance poll. Let David Cook win. He is so an American Idol mold. On the other hand, Casey James is one of those many considered a non-Idol cookie cutter.
I don't understand these polls. Evidently folks are just voting for the person and David Cook is more well known right now, because he already has a record released. If anyone actually compared those two songs, there is no way that "Jealous Guy" wouldn't be by far the front runner. At Casey's performance the other day "Jealous Guy" came on the screen as a pre-show clip and the crowd quit chatting and stopped to listen at it. A crowd silenced by a movie screen is quite awesome!
Casey James "Jealous Guy" is my favorite of all AI seasons ! "Always be my baby" cannot even compare to Jealous guy... To be honest, I do NOT remember Always Be My Baby performance at all, absolutely no recollection of that performance. Whereas I believe I will remember Casey's "Jealous Guy" forever.. it was so beautiful and it's unforgettable!
I had a friend over that night and we both stopped chatting and were glued to the TV. I think it was the best ever.
I've watched every episode of every season of American Idol and can honestly say that Casey James' Jealous Guy was the most spellbinding performance I've ever seen. I've heard from someone in the audience that night that the room was in rapt silence during the performance, as if everyone forgot to breathe. His haunting arrangement, the intensity of his vocals and the beautiful guitar accompaniment combined for a moment that no one who saw it will ever forget. And the video will prove that long after this contest is forgotten.
Jealous Guy by Casey James, blows Always Be My Baby away!!! It is my single favorite performance ever...with Jason Castro's Hallelujah a close second.
Casey got my vote. amazing song. love Cookie too and his fans are fierce so they're not about to let him be defeated.
Always Be My Baby is probably not David Cook's best cover on Idol, but he did such a fantastic job and it was a very original arrangement, David turned this pop song into something haunting and pretty amazing. Even Mariah Carey was impressed!

Jealous guy is up there with my all time favorite idol performances EVER!! Chills! Vote Casey James!
Had to vote for Jealous Guy on this one, even though I like Cook better over all, because Always Be My Baby, in my opinion, wasn't Cook's best performance and shouldn't have been included this tournament over his other performances, especially First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Hello, Billie Jean, Little Sparrow, Music of the Night, Baba O'Riley, and Eleanor Rigby. Jealous Guy, however, was Casey's best performance, and one of the best performances of the lackluster Season 9. Sorry Cook.
