I'm pretty sure I see a panhandler at LEAST 9 out of 10 times I ride the subway.
I've been on the 6 train when 3 separate panhandlers have come thru the car one after the other. It's pretty insane b/c it's happened more than once. And then there are the panhandlers who are at the subway entrances. I don't know what train Bloomberg's been on recently, but he should open his eyes before he trips over someone, like a panhandler.
Has Mr. Mayor taken the F anytime recently?
That being said I appreciate Berg's comment "I'd love to live in whatever city the mayor lives in—it's an entirely different one from the one that I and eight million other New Yorkers live in."
I know Mr. Bloomberg is a major patron of the arts and public health causes, but it would be wonderful for him to fling some of his cash over to services for the homeless and hungry. Especially now.
