Since my back yard is out of sight I don't worry about anyone stealing my clothes so I wash them in the evening and hang them overnight so they can come back in in the morning and not get bleached by the sun. Somehow dividing the job between 2 days makes it seem smaller and getting out to see the stars is relaxing. I don't like the drier because my shirts get wider and shorter.
In the US i put broomsticks over the backs of chairs to make a hanging rack and would hang things overnight in the kitchen. Ideally I'd run a line or 2 in the laundry area or somewhere high if it were possible. That's what I have here for rainy days - 2 lines in the laundry room.

Sometimes I only use the dryer for about 10 minutes on clothes that I want to get a few wrinkles from. Since my lines are under a porch roof, I rarely use the dryer to actually dry clothes completely.

Wish I had a clothesline! Especially for sheets.. I looove the smell of sheets after they've been hanging outside for a few hours...
