Has the MacDefender scareware diminished the Mac's security luster?

Those irresponsible fanboi comments reflect badly on the community of Mac users. Mac apps & OS have never been inherently less-susceptible to Malware! However, since most malware exploits are profit-driven, Apple computers have lately become more-attractive targets as their popularity/numbers increased. It's also somewhat easier to "port" PC exploits to Macs, now that Mac OS software has more in common with other OSes based on Intel architecture & many popular apps are standards-based across platforms. I'm an Apple-Certified Support Specialist, but I also work with WIN 7 on a daily basis; frankly, I think that Microsoft is much-advanced over Apple in protecting users from malware exploits, both in more-sturdy code structures & responsiveness when exploits are documented! Apple is a sitting duck right now, & their current "Head-to-Butt" mentality, as reflected in recently leaked internal memos appears to be an "infection" that Jobs picked-up while serving on the Disney board...

So, one trojan should have us quaking in our boots? Did you see the recent stat that 1 in 14 downloads on WinPC is malware?

A concern to be sure, but minor compared to "the other guy" with 200,000+ .

You truly have your Head Up Your A**™ if you saw them as equivalent.

No way. You have to be to stupid to use a computer without supervision to get this malware. Been using for 20 years never a problem then or now. get over yourselves.
