I've been out of the country so forgive my late entry to this debate. What on earth is this dreadful arrangement??? As a musician it is all wrong. The harmony changes at different time to the melody, the phrase lengths are all wrong and it is quite frankly one of the worst pieces of music I have ever heard. Who ever signed this abortion off does not deserve the position they hold. Bring back the oboe!

The new one is one of the stupidest and worst pieces of music I have ever heard! COME ON!!! Whoever did this to a classic British TV theme should be laughed at and sacked.

I have to say, I'm not a fan of soaps and I have never got into them, but my girlfriend does, so sometimes I have to muscle up and bear it. This goes for the three of them: Corrie, Eastenders and Emmerdale. It is important to say that I have always liked the music for them. It's a sad thing, but now I cringe as I listen to the Emmerdale music.
Being a musician by trade, it's a thing of mine to try and work out time signatures, keys and melodies of songs I listen to, but there is no solid pattern to it. It's uncomfortable and moreover it's a crass attempt at being 'modern'. I impore you; change it back. At least give me something to enjoy when it comes to having to watch Emmerdale.
I always thought Emmerdales theme tune was a truly beautiful piece of music. Whoever changed it destroyed one of the best theme tunes TV had to offer. Such a shame!!!!

you have messed it up it now looks like an advert... for a range rover... should of left it as it was it was better before !!!

Yet again - I have had to watch the new opening sequence of Emmerdale and it just gets me agitated. The music is off beat and combined with the pictures I end up feeling uptight and frustrated – not a good way to start my daily soap. Why on earth have you changed such a relaxing theme into compete torture?
