Based on the NBA career records below how can there be any doubt that Kareem deserves to have the next statue outside Staples Center? In my opinion based the career records of all players who every played for the Lakers it can be seriously questioned why Kareem did not have the first statue outside Staples Center?

Shaq is already getting an LSU statue. Let Kareem get one.

The Shaq attack was created for a reason, the dude cannot shoot free throws. I cannot believe this is even being considered, which player deserves a statue in front of Staples Center, Kareem or Shaq.

Of course Kareem deserves his statue and it's "Way Overdue", the sooner Kareem's is erected the better.

Kareem played almost his whole career with the Lakers. Shaq bolted, and left the Lakers in tatters in his wake. There's just no doubt Shaq was massively effective, but it was as a pure power player. There was very little finesse, with his free throwing as just a single example. Kareem was a pure finesse player, and was a joy and much more entertaining to see. Shaq is more recent, so he's better known, especially among the younger, and Kareem had a much more subdued and cerebral personality, which wasn't all hanging out like the "Big Buffoon's" personality. Actually I like Shaq, and regretted his friction with Kobe. Personally, I'd have taken Shaq, except for the obvious difference in how much basketball was left in each. Shaq has retired now, but he's really been pretty out of it for a couple of years now.

You can't put a statue outside of Staple's Center for someone who retired as a Boston Celtic. Shaq doesn't deserve it.
