I agree with Greg, it's stupid to believe that Darwin is the first to be cut to and then the first to die just because he's black. He does something honorable and may come back if they decide to make another X-men movie.
Do you not realize that they cut to each of the young X-Men, the first of which happens to be Darwin? And honestly, even if the intention was to point out that black people were once enslaved in America, it wouldn't be racist. It's just pointing out a fact that America tries to hard to pretend isn't true.
Not to mention that Darwin's death was the most noble action in the film - he puts his life in danger to protect someone who has just betrayed he and his friends and ultimately loses his life? I bet the director hated black people!
And yes, Darwin was the first main character to die, and the only one really. However, no one complains about the 50 white guards who dies immediately before, one of which tries to sell out the X-Men. If you're gonna look at this in a racial light, then you can more easily say that the director hated white people.
TL:DR - don't make everything about race, damn.

It wasn't racism you freaking ding dongs!!! The movie took place in the F***ing 60's... Go ahead, go back to the 60's and look at the attitude back then or hell go to the library or use google and bone up on your history. Do you really think Martin Luther King Jr would have found such fertile ground if the schism wasn't there??? I think that all the director did was to use a not so subtle reminder of the times and attitudes. Hells bells 6 Years before the movie took place Rosa Parks was arrested for sitting in the front of the bus!
If I had been making a speech about oppression in 1962 and was trying to recruit others to follow me, I would have twanged the heart strings using enslavement/oppression of African Americans if one of the people I was trying to recruit was one.... Go back to school and retake history class before you start trying to pull the racism card. It was an accurate representation of the times in a fictional film.
