Jonathan... can you actually truthfully tell me in musical terminology what is so amazing about your local metal bands eg Erebus, warthane, Dean Crescant? These bands struggle because they are not serious musicians playing music that is good..... they sort of rip off other crap. I am not saying Crash car burn or Prime Circle are any better but dude.... remember this is a commercial show and the majority of people dont like "melodic emo metal black death core".

I hosted the Brothers in Metal festival last year and Chromium and The Dead will Tell seriously kicked some **%%$ .If you want the best of SA metal bands be sure to vote for Chromium ,Dead Will Tell and Warthane as they are defnitely in the same league as any international act

We work Pro-Bono Marius. I'm quite sure you know what that means. We have no funds and only work with what we have and are offered. The only way we may be able to pay for a service is by offering advertising space for a certain length of time.
Thus it would be up to you to decide if you want to help out or not. Although since this site is being viewed by so many people I am quite sure we will ome across a gracious soul who has no intentions of making money off a pro-bono project would like to help out.

If you read up and until the end of my post you would realise that we have given the band members of The Metanoya Rockonfusion a chance to state their case in the facebook group. I have also directly communicated with their leading band member and we have come to an agreement and an investigation is pending. For votes to go from 0 to 1500 in 24 hours is rather suspicious and the act of tampering with the system is indeed malicious.
Please be reminded that all the polls and blog have been set up on a Pro-Bono basis and that people and myself working on this blog do not get paid or sponsored at all thus our funds for hiring specialists to investigate and and pin point the perpetrator identity and location is currently not possible. All we can do is spot the differences in coding on our site.
We also really hope that the people the vote are HONEST and RESPECT THEIR BANDS.
At the end of the day it's the band's that get affected..not a company.
Thus it would be in the interest of the bands to make sure their fans play fair.
These polls are basically a facility set up for the bands. If fans wish to uphold the integrity of they must please help out and play whistle-blower if they spot anything out of the ordinary.
We are here to HELP OUT THE BANDS and get their names out their for companies such as Big concerts and Record companies to see and take notes.

I am from The Metanoya Rockonfusion and I am posting an appeal in the Facebook group as we speak. This does not come from our side and was not condoned by us at all and in any way.
We pride ourselves in doing things with integrity and, although we do have a lot of fans, we will not question your system's ability to detect foul play. Is there any way you can trace any double votes or whatever it was that caused this mishap?

We have deleted The Metanoya Rockonfusion from the voting poll as we have spotted strange changes and behaviour in the coding and can confirm that a anonymous fan of The Metanoya Rockonfusion has tampered with the voting poll system and has caused their band to be penalised.
This is indeed frowned upon and because of the extent of the damage to the harmony and to votes made on the poll we will NOT be allowing The Metanoya Rockonfusion back onto the poll until we have been satisfied with a decent explanation of how their votes went from 0 to 1537 in the span of 24 hours.

Agro was born in 1994 The band. Within the first two months of forming the band they had their first live appearance, February 1994 in Yeoville, Johannesburg, SA. After playing their local club and festival scene, Agro went into studio to record their first album; “From Within”. It was released in 1995. The Song “Lean on Me” reached No. 7 on the International Rock Charts on a popular National Radio Station. Their second album “Eyes” was released in April of 1997. It was a highly anticipated release and the CD Launch was a huge success, at Club Icon in Johannesburg, SA. The band went on to tour the album nationwide. It also got extensive radio play on National and Regional radio stations.
After the tragic loss of David Kietzmann, the band eventually got to work on new material, and went back into studio to record the third album “The Tree”.
The album was launched in Johannesburg in November of 1999. Fresh off the South African national tour for “The Tree”, the band had an opportunity to tour Germany in August of 2000. The highlight of this German Tour was the honour of playing alongside some of the biggest names in Heavy Metal worldwide at the Wacken Open Air Festival outside Hamburg, where 50 000 heavy metal enthusiasts from all over the world gather to watch this awesome annual event.
Their album in 2003, “Forthcoming” proved to be Agro’s true coming of age album, where they stood up to be counted as seasoned musicians in the underground scene of their genre. The album drew attention from Japan, to Australia, Argentina and the United States.
The band felt they owed it to the fans to come up with something a little special, enter the unofficial fifth album “Gouda than Hell”. Although this album is all in the name of fun, a tongue-in-cheek celebration of music and ten years of Agro enjoyment. A culmination of songs that were performed live exclusively and some select cover songs that have been Agro-ized and put together to form a brilliant, yet fun album to celebrate 10 years of brotherhood in steel. Released in 2004 , the album was not toured, as it was an unofficial album released solely for the enjoyment of the fans.
Their sixth album, “Ritual 6”, promised to be a creative and rock solid release, that won’t let the hardened fans or any new Agro recruits down. In early 2006 Agro joined the Armageddon Records fold, based in Doerpstedt, Germany. The recorded tracks were mastered in Stage One Studios in Hamburg, under the skilled hand of Michael Hankel (Holy Moses). The album “Ritual 6” was released on Friday, 13 October 2006, alongside Armageddon favourites Tourettes and Reckless Tide. A European tour is on the cards shortly after the album release.
Agro signed a full sponsorship with Dean Guitars.
Another tragic loss happened in the Agro Family. Manager Alan Pennicott who had been with Agro from the beginning passed away suddenly 3rd November 2007. This has moved Shane (son of Alan) into writing the music for Agro’s 7th C.D. It promises to be music from the heart.

The rumours you heard were exactly that...rumours. Someone decided to April Fool some people and claimed that Cokefest is canceled. This is in fact incorrect. Cokefest is very much alive. I have spoken directly with the Local Music Director of Big Concerts and they will in no way cancel an event as profitable as Cokefest simply because of the noise. A different day or venue may be used for the festival. But it will be here in 2009. I hope you're saving up money to buy your ticket early because I have a feeling that as soon as the bands are listed and dates confirmed the tickets will indeed fly out.
Here's a tip...when in April...read the news...listen to facts and try not to make assumptions. Monkey see...monkey do..we're not monkeys now are we people?

Hmm, Your Name In Neon has 627 on facebook, so it's very possible that they could get that many votes....
At the end of the day ... these organisers are not going to pick the band with 648 000 million votes ... they'll look at the votes, compare them to their facebook and myspace pages ... probably go see them live and then make an informed decision ... this is just to get an indication for the bands who market etc ...

I don't think that Your Name In Neon should be taken off the list, I highly doubt that they would spike there own votes, I don't think anyone from a band would be that desperate. I think they should just be taken down to a 0 votes, and allow them to retry, otherwise the competition is unfair.
Hi there, how can a band be removed due to the action of others? That's not really fair on the band is it?
