I have recently attended NERP conference and AGM in South Africa where Brenda Wandera was one of the speakers of the conference. Her presentation caught our minds very much as farmers with South Africa especially from the North West province in Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati district where the drought has actually hit hard that area and many farmers are left devastated.
I am trying to follow the model so that we can start selling the idea to our government because commercial insurances are very expensive but above all there are lot of stringent requirements when you have to claim during drought like taking animals to vet and those are rare skills to find and distances to be travelled and conditions road where farmers work makes it difficult to load animals and take it for assessment
