Loved the winner - the contemporary room by Natalie Umbert. Couldn't believe that when I opened my new magazine, there were the swivel barrel chairs I've been searching for. How do I get them? What is the brand name? Is there a place for sources for the winning room?

How about a new set? This Seth's already been published in the magazine.....what about voting for the next issue?

At first glance, I went for the Sleek & White room, but the more I looked at each one the more I liked Classic & Casual because to me it not only looked beautiful but comfortable, too. Love, love, love the magazine..... can't wait for the next issue!

I love #4 because it has the beautiful focal wall of the fireplace, TV and bookcases. It is a multi-functional room. You can watch TV, read on the beautiful window-seat, or just enjoy the fireplace. The colors are fresh and inviting, and just welcome you in. It has everything.

I like the 3rd as the mix of traditional and eye-catching makes the space fun without making it messy. I love traditional pieces, but color and accessories are what make a room uniquely yours.

I like the classic and casual living room . It has great formality, but also has a feeling of welcoming you to put your feet up and enjoy the space!

I picked #2 , looks more comfortable and cozy..but none were my favorite..I prefer a country setting..and also with family photos and a more personal feel.

The rooms each hold their own invitations but room #2 says "come, clear your mind and relax".
Besides it's the only room that wouldn't take hours to clean, and the coffee table is ready for me to put my feet up!

The colorful room draws you and invites you to sit on the couch. It feels like a home and projects a comfortable warmth. The fabrics are unique and fun. I like it!

The beachy blues and greens in #2 just lifts you to a vacation spot by the sea. So serene and comforting. The texture in the rug adds so much and the overstuffed furniture looks like it'd feel like a big hug if you were to sit right down with your #1 summer read.

All 4 had issues. Your eye is drawn to the bold colors and crispness of #1. There is actually space to sit or sprawl without having to move a dozen pillows, but white...not with my family. #2 is too formal to sit and read a book, # 3 is too cluttered and #4 once again white....and too many pillows, nowhere to sit without working at it before and after sitting.

I LIKD #2 BECAUSE THE COLORS WERE SOOTHING AND RELAXING.
THE ROOM WAS VERY REFRESHING AND I CAN SEE MYSELF FEELING
VERY COMFORTABLE SITTING IN THE ROOM.

I picked #4, I loved them all, but 4 had everything, hardwood floors, flat screen, storage, fireplace, bench seating and plenty of room. #4 just had it all. Beautiful rooms every one of them, anyone would be proud to have in their home.

  • Lynda - 13 years ago

I picked #2 - very warm, cozy and inviting. Colors in #1 are too stark and uninviting; #3 was too cluttered and too much color; and #3 too much white.

  • Cheryl - 13 years ago

They were all stiff and staged with no warmth at all.

  • LaTreva - 13 years ago

I like #4 because it's spacious, contemporary and has an inviting feel for get-togethers, family and friends.

I love the repeat of red throughout the sleek and modern living room. It draws your eyes to all corners. The straight lines cause you to feel relaxed and not overpowered by the pattens in the room. The simple architectural elements such as the stair railing, pillars, and dining room chandelier ground the whole room with a sense of tradition and timelessness that makes it not too rigid as some modern rooms can be.

Loved #2 but too formal for me. All the colorful pillow made #4 really "pop", but can't figure out where to sit without constantly moving the pillows. #1 was too modern for me, but nice. The room that did it for me was #3. The colors are warm and restful. The room was so inviting and relaxing.

The room is very alive, beautifully colored and even though "really done" still is set for a real living and conversation. It's great for being alone or being in a group situation.

It was a toss up between #2 and #4. First I want to state that I am 54 years old and live up in Northern Wi. I loved #2 but it was a little "cool" for me. I loved #4 because it had the fireplace, an essential for us! :) #3 was way too busy for me and if I were younger I would have voted for #1...... :)

Loved the room,it had a place for everyone, watch tv,read and at the same time
be comfy for friends and family. The colours were awesome and the fireplace
made it so warm to enjoy.

  • Denise - 13 years ago

I think #3 is very inviting, relaxing and fun at the same time. Definitely a room I could cuddle up with a good book, or have the girls over for coffee in! I love it the colors and placement of various seating!

The woodwork detail is lovely. The whole room is calm and inviting to sit and relax.
I could so see this room in a traditional location as well as in a seaside resort location.
    Love it!

Room 3 has bits of the unexpected. The room will never just blend into the background of the lives of the people that occupy that space. The details, colors and textures are the life of that space.

  • Angela - 13 years ago

I believe the purpose of having the results private was so that no-one would know how the voting is going. Commenting about the rooms is a bit different than saying, "I voted for ##."

  • melissa - 13 years ago

Sorry, forgot to tell! #3 is the 1 i voted for. Thank you

  • melissa - 13 years ago

It seems this room has many focal points, you just dont know what to look at first. Colorful but not overpowering at all. Sit ,relax and enjoy.

  • Jin - 13 years ago

I liked the last room because the floor plan pulled me into the room. It's light and bright, looks clean, and has a splash of color. It would be easy to change the pillows and accents to add seasonal interest.

  • Carolyn - 13 years ago

The style of decor for room #1 does not seem to fit the architecture of the home- the traditional stair railing and faux columns, also the coffee table/ottoman looks like cheap bicast leather. I like and voted for #4, even though the TV over the fireplace bugs me, especially for a living room.

The bright green tones inspire the feeling of a lush tropical garden in your home -- a year-round vacation! That would make me very happy...

  • Danielle - 13 years ago

The colorful room has various items which invite you put your feet up & relax!!
