Management is key, they dont seem to understand the situation. When companies fail it is driven by management that have no clue and are stuck in the past or are too arrogant. Take a look at Wang laboratories, DEC, most of the minicomputer companies, Xerox many times, Apple after Jobs left, the typesetter companies, many others, all gone, couldn't change their historic way of thinking, couldn't adapt to new realities, wouldn't listen to those managers who had a clue. Maybe with new management, new thinking Nokia will come back, yet time is awasting for RIM, they need new management at multiple levels, new focus on the realities of the market they play in, oh stop underestimating your competition might help too- their arrogant comments about the iphone at the beginning tells a tale. Many have seen this movie before, I was at Xerox, DEC and you could see the "analysis paralysis". Good luck.
