I grew up not knowing sign language. I attended Gallaudet U. and lived in the DC area for about 5 years when I moved back home. I didn't think I would date a hearing man. With the exception of my family, my life revolved around the Deaf community. At the time, in the Cincinnati area there were no single deaf man that interest me. I was set up on a blind date with my now husband,who is hearing. I was scared and nervous because I didn't know how he would feel about my deafness...but he is the most compassionate and patient person I've ever met. We celebrated 15 years of marriage last October...I think that says a lot about our relationship.
