What is the best way for our three levels of government to invest in our river valley infrastructure?

You have a poll, but your article strongly biases people towards one answer for the poll, and they likely read the article before voting.

In your article, you ask why we can't have a nice "Riverwalk" area right down by the water's edge, but if you look over on page A5 there's an article about how a number of trails remain closed due to flooding. Trails in our river valley flood on a frequent basis. Any effort spent building a Riverwalk area too close to the river will be money thrown away to the next flood. I know a lot of cyclists on the other hand who like to visit Terwillegar park and who will make a lot of use of the new bridges. The golf course does not significantly limit access to the north end of this bridge, as there is already a trail down from the top of the bank to access the west end of the Fort Edmonton footbridge which opened this spring. The combination of these two new bridges will provide loop routes for cyclists and joggers in the southwest part of the city.
