    The revenge was pointless. You were originally concerned about him not putting away his CD's. You wanted him to modify his behavior. You took no steps to try to do that other than to tell him to put the CD's away. Since that didn't get the behavior modification you sought you needed to try a different approach. A very good approach would be to ask him questions to understand why he did not put them away. You could also have asked what he could do change the behavior or what you could do when he does not put the CD's away. This may well have resulted in the solution to the issue.

    The revenge taken served nothing to address the issue at hand. You simply did something to cause him great aggravation. The fact you did it with his CD's does not make the aggravation appropriate.
