Don't Rain on my Parade as others have said it meant something to the context of the show plus Lea did a wonderful job and on very difficult song.

  • Seth - 13 years ago

Don't Rain on my Parade is still talked about as a show stopper. Never heard that about Valerie.

  • Lillie - 13 years ago

DROMP hands down. Naya's voice is basic and overrated.

  • Jim - 13 years ago

DROMP is the best song of those two without a doubt.

I don't even see how it is that close.

  • Heather - 13 years ago

Also, Valerie had some awesome dance moves.

  • Heather - 13 years ago

I loved Valerie, I never heard it before Glee and it's always happily stuck in my head for days after I hear it. I almost forgot about Don't Rain on My Parade, it wasn't as enjoyable as Valerie, I wouldn't care if I never heard it again. I'm going to go youtube Valerie...

  • L. - 13 years ago

DROMP for sure, I absolutely loved Valerie and Naya did a great job at performing it, but DROMP was really broadway-esque, it was perfect and breath-taking. Besides they won sectionals this year whereas it was a tie the year after.

Don't Rain on my Parade it just meant something and help finish out those first 13 episodes.

Plus Lea Michele sang the hell out of it.

I like Valerie but it wasn't as special as the Don't Rain on my Parade.

No reason to get personal with the characters or actors. Just unnecessary.

Plus no on is talking about duets or Finn, so I have no idea what the anon is talking about.

If you want to talk competitions when Rachel sang DROMP they won. When Santana sang Valerie they only tied.

  • Anonymous - 13 years ago

Oh come on! Get used to the fact that in each competition with Rachel and Finn's duet for start. The NEW DIRECTIONS lose. NAYA RIVERA!! I love you ! and her valerie is one of the best songs i've ever heard. RACHEL"S BIG TROUTY MOUTH!!! :@

    DROMP enough said....

  • Savu - 13 years ago

    DROMP, no argument.

  • jess - 13 years ago

    Valerie! I love naya's voice

When people think back to great performances on glee, Don't Rain on My Parade will always be brought up. I bet it is a big factor in why Lea was nominated for a golden globe and emmy actually.

It was the topper on the first 13 episode. It worked so well with their storyline. The underdogs weren't going to let Sue of anyone else get them down.

Valerie was nice and well probably helped them get the tie becasue Time of my life was bad, but it does not compare it the importance of DROMP, nor was it sung or performed with as much gusto.

Not to mention DROMP is just a much harder song to sing and Lea nailed it.

  • Laurie - 13 years ago

DROMP is the best performance ever on Glee. Valerie was weak compared to Amy Winehouse's version. DROMP and Don't Stop Believing are the performances that put Glee on the map.

  • Keith - 13 years ago

You might want to hear it over and over again but that still doesn't mean it is the better song.

DROMP is a harder song to sing and was more important to he story.

  • kirain - 13 years ago

oh come on?? when Naya sings "valerie" I always want to hear it over and over again

  • Frank - 13 years ago

Please DROMP is one if not the best song this show has ever done.

Lea sang the hell out of it and it actual fit the story arc. Valerie is good but meant nothing to the story.

  • David - 13 years ago

57% got this completely wrong. I'd never heard "Valerie" before Glee, but it knocks most othe songs off the mat. Fabulous.

  • Kricket - 13 years ago

Lea's rendition of "Don't Rain on My Parade" was phenomenal, however, remember when "Jesse" said it lacked Barbra's emotional depth? Totally true, Naya's performance of "Valerie" had no such problems.

  • Savannah - 13 years ago

i think Reachel did ok but Santana did a lot better
i'd reather hear Valerie over and over again

  • Taylor - 13 years ago

As much as I love Naya's voice, Lea's performance of "Don't Rain On My Parade" still remains one of my favorites.
