But it really is a disgrace that Pete Reiser got so few votes as a centerfield choice. Leo Durocher, perhaps familiar to a few Dodger fans, said in his autobiography that he was usually quoted as saying that the best player he ever saw was Willie Mays. However Leo went on to declare that actually the best player he ever saw was Pete Reiser. Oh, and by the way, Leo was for a few seasons teammates with Babe Ruth.
