I know from personal experience of overt corruption in the Polish judiciary, legal professions. and healthcare professions. I know of judges lawyers doctors who gleefully take advantage of the opportunity to lie in and out of court for a cash payment. Is Poland corrupt? Well I think it should rank with Somalia or Places like Egypt. Far too many poles are totally unaware of what goes in their public institution. Unfortunately, because the judiciary and government are infested with very high level corrupt individuals the necessary tools to eradicate corruption in Poland will never be implemented by them. Which means nothing will change in the the foreseeable future. When lower and high court judges state in written justifications that " it is almost a crime and incredible that a plaintive critised doctors" who were not experts in the field inwhich they gave trumped up opinions dictated by judge/lawyer. Poland is a regime controlled and run by a few which is why investigative journalists disappear without a trace and nothing is done about it for the most irrational reasons. The ruling classes of Poland only want to be in the EU so that they have a great source of funds (EU handouts) that they can use to siphon into their own bank accounts by bribing contractors etc. etc and get rich just as the ruling classes of all corrupt regimes do. There is nothing special about Poland's corrupt elite it's all they know about how to become wealthy. They are ignorant of the ways to make a fortune honestly and are simply not clever enough to know about the immense harm they inflict on their country. But they would not care about this anyway.
