I suggest the name 'Drachmae' (the old Greek money) for paying the ferryman

    Should be called "Preserpina".

Why not call it e.g. Moros (engl.: doom, fate), offspring of Nyx , bother of the Moirae (Fates) ?
If New Horizon finds some more moons, then they could be names after the Moirae.

This gives IMO a much better reason than the widely propagated CT in Alecto of the "Moon around a real planet not a dwarf planet" folks. Clyde Tombaugh was, is, and will be the discoverer of Pluto. So there is no real need of a tribute to CT.

I support Alecto because it has the letters CT in it, which are the initials of Pluto discoverer Clyde Tombaugh. For those who recognize the demotion was wrong, there is no need to accept it. Join those of us who are fighting it and advocating the planet status of all dwarf planets. Click on my name to visit my Pluto Blog, and if you are on Facebook, join the Cause Bring Pluto Back. Dwarf planets are planets too!

It should get named whatever the discoverers Showalter and Hamilton would like it to be named! Seems like the rest of the community is usurping their privilege.

Alecto sounds and feels right !

Vote Alecto with a "CT" to honor Pluto discoverer Clyde Tombaugh: http://astroguyz.com/2011/07/25/26-07-11-naming-p4-a-humble-proposal/

....I think they should name it "MICKEY" because Pluto and Mickey are best friends...

Mors is equivalent for Thanatos but in Roman Mythology and Pluto is the Roman Mythology name for Hades. Therefore 'Mors' is more appropriate.

It should be named "Moon around a real planet not a dwarf planet".

The thing that ticked me off most about the reclassification is the meetings purpose seemed to have a mission to come up with a definition of a planet specifically defined to remove pluto from the list of planets. It seemed a forgone conclusion since each time pluto would still fit in their defintion, they kept reworking the defintion.

I think it should be name Firmin after the modeler of The Clangers.

The Clangers was a popular British stop motion animated children's television series of short stories about a family of mouse-like creatures who live on, and in, a small blue planet (quite similar to, but not intended to be, the Moon). They speak in whistles, and eat green soup supplied by the Soup Dragon. The programmes were originally broadcast by the BBC from 1969-1972.

The series was made by Smallfilms, the company set up by Oliver Postgate (writer and narrator) and Peter Firmin (modelmaker, animator and illustrator). Firmin designed the characters and his wife knitted and 'dressed' the Clangers.
