I used to call fluffy/floofy cats and/or dogs "fuffaahs" - don't ask me where I got that! I really have no idea but they seemed to understand what it was. I think it came from their fur just being so warm and soft and "squishable/huggable" - love it.

My Max is a Maine Coon/Tabby mix and although he doesn't have a lot of ear floof he has a very floofy tummy. His fur is medium length and very soft and thankfully he doesn't shed a great deal but, he gets a good brushing at least once a week and then a rub down with a pet wipe which leaves his fur fresh smelling and shiny. He's not impressed though. He will go off and start washing like crazy and looking at me like - "eeewww! i smell like a girl cat!" But, yes i like the floofy word!

I think it depends on the cat. Persions are floofy, most long-hairs are fluffy. I don't think I've ever seen a fuzzy cat, unless he/she had lint on him/her.

I chose floofy because Smudege is neither fluffly or fuzzy. He is a very soft short haired Orange Tabby. He also sheds HORRIBLY.
