Which Play At The Plate Against The Braves Was More Controversial?

Sorry, I didn't finish my first statement.
Everyone that says the 19th inning call was more controversial because of the clarity of the tag being applied, is correct in the sense that the call was missed so badly. Simply put, that call was one of the worst that I have ever seen in my 40+ years of watching baseball. However.....

Everyone that says the 19th inning call was more controversial because of the clarity of the tag being applied. However, because I have yet to recover from the 1992 call, I have to call it more controversial. The Pirates were one strike away from the World Series and a former Buc scored the winning run. The irony of who scored, the closeness of the call, the way the call/play impacted the future of the Pittsburgh Pirates makes it more controversial. The call in the bottom of the 19th was a loss, followed by an other extra inning loss, but the Pirates showed character and the ability to rebound by playing a great game last night to win 5-2.
I am just hoping beyond hope that the Pirates are able to continue to win and bring a Pennant to the city of Pittsburgh.

The Sid Bream call was totally heartbreaking but most likely accurate. Bonds didn't make the throw. The one this week was controversial and completely wrong...a huge blunder on the ump's part. The two really are not comparable in my opinion. That being said, "Let's Go Bucs!" Let's use this to push us through these next games and rack up some wins and win some more series.

Terrible call. I think the ump was hot and tried and wanted to go home. If he had made the correct call the game would have gone on for who knows how long. There should be some kind of punishment for the ump.

the only controversy i can see in the sid bream play is..why did bonds win so many gold gloves??? he was a mediocore at best outfielder!! you can't throw bream out from second by 10 feet on a fairly hard hit ball???

one of the most excitng ballgames i've ever watched, next to Game 7 of the '60 World Series,
and to have it end in this fashion. I watched the whole game and have a very biased opinion
on Jerry Meals. For 6 hours and 29 minutes he was ridiculed by both teams for ball and strike
calls. Maybe he was just tired and wanted to get off the field, but so were the players on both
teams! I don't believe his excuse was forthcoming and somebody better take exception to that.
    Bring on INSTANT REPLAY !!

'92 call WAS awful close & LaV may have got him, but last night's was ridiculous--check out video from FoxSportsSouth (the ATL broadcast)....The swipe tag hit Lugo in THREE places!

Anyone who is trying to say this call is not a big deal is braindead. Have some attention to detail. Pirates miss the playoffs by one game and then what? And it doesnt make it ok, COOKIE, just because we have had calls go in our favor. Instead of saying its ok becasue we got calls, how about we change the way we call games. Cutch can get a double taken away from him weeks later, but I cant ask for a correction during the game? Lets evolve Selig. It will happen at some point whether you are there or not.
