What do You Think About Google's Stance on the Patent Trolling?

I think it's bullshit what the other companies are doing to Google, they can't beat Google/Android legitimately so they try and impose stupid roadblocks to slow down sales or make it so people don't want to buy Android devices.

But then again should we expect anything less from Microsoft? They've always been assholes when it comes to making money and making sure their products are "top dog" in sales when they're actually "bottom of the totem pole" quality/functionality wise. They steal other company's tech that isn't patented and then patent it and call it their own. Many features in Windows Vista/7 are direct rip-offs of the Mac OS. The thing I hate the most about them is they try to lock you in to their products (just like Apple does, more or less), most people don't know that there is an alternative to Windows. Microsoft doesn't own my computer, I do and I should be able to do whatever I want to do with it, that's why I run Linux (and more so Android).

I hope Google kicks the crap out of Sun/Microsoft/Apple and finally end this nonsense. Stop trying to patent common technologies that you didn't create, but just took advantage of.

I totally am on Google's side, but "Don't hate the player, hate the game."

There are valid patents that need to be protected by law but the patents at issue in all these lawsuits are so vague and broad that they're like patenting a "round object used in conjunction with the same or similar round objects to move or carry another object from one place to the next, commonly known as a wheel"
like the looks of an ipad, a tablet, any tablet is going to look like a large screen with a few buttons, unless a company makes one exactly the same (exactly!) or puts an Apple logo on it Apple should not be suing anyone.
And for example the list bounce that Apple is suing Samsung for, it is not a feature that is very complicated and can have been "invented" independently (I'm sure I had some programs that bounced the text on my Amiga 500)
The attempts at stopping or severely crippling Android with such "inventions" is indeed stifling innovation.
