It is amazing that in this age of enlightenment, there are still so many that are intentionally blind. There is always a price to pay.

Chief Tegreman thought that by accepting the foreigners and their gifts, he was not only being hospitable, but hopefully, their unfamiliar and superior technology would redound to the benefit of his people. It did not work then and will not work now.

The perceived benefits that were anticipated would accrue to the local populace were not balanced against the benefits that the external adventurers were intending to extract; and what his people would be forced to give up. The realization of his mistake came too late.

After a few years, culminating with the massacre at "Bloody Point", the fabric of the local social structure was irreparable torn; many natives lost their lives (murders) with a remnant being subdued and subjugated, forced to serve their new masters.

There is always a price to be paid; Rewards and Penalties - Benefits and Harm.

After many centuries the natives of Liamuiga continue to suffer.

Lord help us, as we see the emergence of the Tegreman spirit.
