I voted for the '92 team but I probably voted with more heart than brains. I still think the '80's era Celtics -- Bird, McHale, Chief, DJ -- were the greatest ever.

Magic is very Magic - BUT - as indicated - the talent then and now across the pond is considerably better. I still think the older USA club would have taken the gold but only because the newer USA club wasn't playing. It would be a good series but I think youth and increased basketball accuity would win out over age and experience. Got to remember - when Kobe was added to the foray and they went to work, the USA team was an entirely different team. Soooo - If it were a 7 game series, the Newer USA Team would win because the Older team is just that Older - and their legs would give out. If we took them back to the same time - still think the 2008 squad would win it 4 - 3. Sorry Magic, Bird and MJ. Life is a movin' along!

I'm showing my age here but let me suggest the 1960 team with Oscar and Jerry. Oscar is still the only man to average a triple double for an entire season and they still have Jerry on the NBA jersey. Sure it was a different game then but it was still a fantastic team. They had a bunch of future NBA All Stars on that team. Oscar - a triple double average for an entire season. Tell me who has ever done better?

92 no contest. The bench players of 92 (david robinson, karl malone, scottie pippin, clyde drexler, john stockton) could beat the 2008 team easy

I know this will be lost on most of u MJ riders, but collectively, the 2008 team is far more talented than the Dream Team. Magic is using the margin of wins as the barometer to say they were or are better. If u are a true basketball fan and not blinded by the mystic of MJ, Magic and Bird, it will be easy to see that offensively and defensively, the 08 team is better. The game is much faster and the talent is much better nationally and internationally... But what do I know, I just went to JuCo
