Betty Choate: "And since the amount would then be too small to pay a "renouned" speaker, maybe Dawkins would just donate his efforts and time."

Richard Dawkins: "I was hugely looking forward to it, and it was, indeed, my main reason for travelling all the way from England, at my own expense. I also announced my intention to accept no honorarium, so keen was I to support the festival."

First, Ft Bragg’s 3 star Commanding General & other leadership explicitly offered in writing to host this event last year when they held the Rock the Fort Christian concert & recruiting drive.
Next, I’m not 100% certain about this but, there should be No Cost to the general US Taxpayer since these types of events are normally funded by MWR (Morale Welfare & Recreation) funds which come from a surcharge & dividends earned thru AAFES (Army, Air Force Exchange System) i.e. on base retail stores.
Finally, this kind of event is exactly what the MWR fund was designed for.

At first I was dismayed by the headline till I saw Robertson git the same... Ok, give them the same opportunity. I know some believers will still go because it is for the servicemen first. Faith is faith... Let them share. But be warned, the next concert will be for Islamic and then Jewish bands... Maybe 50k for Buhdist music festival, etc.

The "fair" thing would be for the percentage of $50,000 to be reckoned, based on the percentage of atheists compared to believers. And since the amount would then be too small to pay a "renouned" speaker, maybe Dawkins would just donate his efforts and time.
