Richard Meier run out of ideas, this exactly same design has been used for the Barcelona contempory arts museum, designed in the 90's

Meier should give a huge discount for this "recycled" design... Or is it a revival?? Seems to be the new architectural trend... In any case, i hope his architects team have considered the weather conditions as a big difference bwteen the Canadian city and the Spanish one.

If the goal is to bring Alberta, Edmonton on to the world architectural stage, and promote the bold and forward looking new urbanism in Edmonton, PCL's is my choice. BTW, voting based on one image does not do the schemes justice. However I'm biased.

I like the openness of the Graham design, and the fact that it looks a little more hands-on and people-friendly. They all look a little sterile on the outside, but I would give it to the Graham design.

The Graham one is the best by a narrow margin.

do we really need another one, there is nothing wrong with the one we have, and we just spend a lot of tax dollars doing renos. what a waste of money to build a new one. why not get our roads under construction first, or reface stony plain road, and make it more appealing since we are the capital of alberta!

I agree with Lee. Graham looks like the best design... lots of natural lighting and space for greenery outside. A perfect place to sit and read a book, people watch, or have lunch.

I believe the Graham is the best of all. It is eligent and timeless exactly what a museum is suppossed to be. It is wide open with tons and natural light and since it does not sprawl over the entire building site it leaves room for lots of outdoor space and natural landscaping.

I agree, the PCL design is the best of the choices.

Graham Design and Jardeg Construction has the best concept, I hope they win. I don't really understand what Elise is saying!!!

Most of these buildings make me think of other institutions around town. What I like about PCL's proposal is that it isn't really about the latest building fad. It's timeless on the exterior. Maybe it's not the most exciting outside ever (As opposed to, say, the Edmonton Art Gallery) But that's not the point of a museum. The big box in the center of this building makes me think that they're saving all their tricks for a beautiful interior, which is exactly what a museum is supposed to do.

I like pcl's design. The idea of all the green pavilions make me think that this building is promoting sustainability and building towards a bright future.

Change is good. our downtown will look great and will be improved by any new development that brings life and activity back to the downtown area. there's really no slowing this down, with the proposed arena, the gentrification of old buildings, the airport redevelopment, the renovated federal building... a new museam is a much appreciated addition to our civil landscape.

Looking forward to a positive change to our downtown ! my vote is for Ledcor.

well your all wrong - the answer is PCL.
    1) University 2) Big Business 3) Dull and 4) Brilliant.

Why don't we chose the worst design and call it the Stelmach legacy. It could be totally boring and non functional, to help us remember.

These are a perfect example of how the Provincial Government is wasting our tax pay dollars on something that was already in the design stage. The new designs presented are not inspiring at all and leave a bitter taste in my mouth. Very poor job and none of the designs do Alberta justice! Please back to the drawing board with this crap!

What about none of the above?

I liked the old one, with the beautiful plans for its expansion and upgrades. These are DULL.
