Do you agree with Susan Lucci?

I am one of thousands who come home after a long day of work and look forward each day to see what else is going to happen in Pine Valley. It hits alot of topics that are going on, example like the character "Brod" who came back from Afghanistan with his face burnt and being loved for what he is inside not outside. A young mother who has to decide to let her baby go in great hopes that her baby goes to a good family. The subtle comics either said or done in a slight joke, like with Michael Knight and on rare occasions by Thorsten Kaye, and the way he interacts with the children. It's not, in my opinion, like "The Bold & the Beautiful" where every actor on there is superficial on the outside and can't act. I whole hardly agree with Ms Lucci. Go for it Susan!
I will miss every single actor on AMC, especially when the actors are friends in their real life, like Rebecca and Alicia.
Till we meet again, hope all of you get a job from the soaps that are still on, or better yet create a new soap mixing up AMC and OLTL actors,.

    all my love, ttfn

...and another thing....the moron who decided to cancel the show that has run for 41 years, but first thought it brilliant to move it to CA first....is an ass! Hopefully when the other suits at ABC check on their "ratings" for their other ABC shows, they will understand the error of their ways by paying attention the moron. This fan base that you so blithely divorced will definitely make a stand...you'll probably see a drop in ratings immediately from your other shows...and you can forget about The Chew - Seriously, The Chew! Chew this!

  • Lew-Anne - 13 years ago

It was inevitable for soaps to move on. Ratings are based on who is watching...but moms are no longer home watching....they are working, possibly taping the show for watching at a later time. I hope that the changeover to online works because I have been a fan of AMC since day one, and will miss the characters terribly should they no longer continue with their crazy lives!

I too have watched this show in some form (live when home sick from school or work, VCR every day I don't watch live, and reruns on the holidays) since the day it began. I would often say to friends "Can't wait to see what's happening in Pine Valley!". These Pine Vallians are my peeps! I think for ABC to cater to one demographic is insane. There are dedicated viewers from all age groups, all socio-economic levels and all walks of life. Shame on ABC and double shame on Brian Frons (who ever heard of HIM before this?) for horrible management and non-existent insight into the AMC fan. I agree with the comments about The Chew. I will not watch live, and I assuredly will not waste my precious time and tape - will NEVER tape it to watch later. If we want to watch food or cooking, there are channels dedicated to shows much better than what I see in the previews for The Chew. It's no longer the respected ABC - The American Broadcasting Company; it's ABC - ASININE BRAINLESS CRAP!
I urge everyone to go on their website to let them know how we think!

I have been watching this show since I was 15 (now 24) I watch All My Children every day at 8pm on SoapNet. All my Children is my guilty pleasure. Brian Frons, you are a complete idiot for cancelling this show. It has been on for 41 years, and all you wanna do is save your own behind and forget the rest! What about their families whom also need to eat every night? And why dont you guys put on another cooking show so that the obesity percentage can keep soaring. I wil boycott ABC after 9/23. This is just completely ludacrious!

  • Lupelu - 13 years ago

The idiots that voted No, are Brian Frons and his minions. ABC will soon realize the power of a soap fan.

  • Karen - 13 years ago

I'm banning ABC completely! I think everyone at ABC needs to be shoved a mouthful of Chew maybe then they'll get a taste of what we are all saying!!!!!!!

I will no longer watch any ABC shows day/night after 09.23.2011 @ 1:59pm EST
You can CHEW on that ABC execs

I applaud Susan Lucci for telling the truth and speaking her mind. She is absolutely right. ABC and Mr. Brian Frons have thrown the writers, actors and loyal viewers under the bus. All My Children was the best show on the air for 41 years and I've watched it for all that time. You could count on the writers to deliver intelligent and yet heart felt story lines and for the actors to deliver excellent, excellent performances. We could cry and laugh with them. No other show on the air compares to All My Children.

Because of the decision ABC and Mr. Brian Frons have made so callously and cavalierly, totally disregarding their loyal viewer base, I have decided to remove myself from all ABC and ABC Family viewing. Go figure it out boys. You really got it wrong this time.

Finally someone has the courage to say the obvious, the demise of the show is on Brian Frons. He moved the show to LA for what reason?? Agnes Nixon being removed as head writer 3 years ago, spelled the end of the history of the show, which was always based around the central characters, their families, etc. All of these extra elements of the writing, did not take this history into, this new concept, because they were reading the polls which said their core demographic was the 18-24 whatever it was and they were playing to that demographic, and not the core viewers like me who have watched this show for 25 plus years. Brian Frons and the suits and accountants are/were only concerned about profits, not history, not quality. The could care less about the actors and their craft, of bring the story to life. I will never, never, watch "the chew" it is pure garbage, and every fan of AMC and OLTL should boycott it too. Shame on you Brian Frons. I would boycott the news each night but, I only watch because I like Diane Sawyer.

I also have taken ABC off my favorites on my remote. I started watching All My Children from the very first show as a teenager. I have watched it since, my daughter now 30 has watched it from the day she was born. Not happy with the idea of the Chew, Food Network, maybe. I feel bad for those fans that are not internet savvy and find out the soap they love is gone on the last show. Shame on ABC, shame on Brian Fons. He needs to be fired. He uproots a whole group of people, it was not easy for some of them, from NY to CA just to end their show. Shameful. To lead the fans on to believe that their show was safe because they moved them to CA, Shameful. I will boycott ABC until they fire Fons, apologize to the fans and to the cast and crew of All my Children, and make it right. One more question, why did they just not put them only on soap net. We would of watched.

  • Lance - 13 years ago

I as well as many others expected to grow old with Erica Kane, aka Susan Lucci, but it seemed that Brian Frons was more concerned with his own jobs and was willing to throw the entire cast and crew of AMC under the bus. Being a loyal viewer of AMC for the past 41 years I have no intention of watching any show called the Chew.

  • Gail - 13 years ago

I will be setting my DVR and VCR for NBC or CBS, I have been watching AMC from the beginning and One Life To Live for a very long time. General Hospital is your last chance with me ABC, I really do not care for the women of the View either!

  • Teresa L. Jones - 13 years ago

I agreee with Susan. No way does the cancellation of ALL MY CHILDREN seem inevitable. A show that has been on the air for 41 years????? WHAT? IT HAS THE BACKING OF YEARS of dedicated fans. People watch this five times a week. NOT just once a week, FIVE times a week.
Now you come to the new show replacing the 41 year running phenomenon. If anyone has seen the previews of "The Chew", they would not believe someone actually paid to put this show on the air. With the economy the way it is, (and Americans overweight) I do not think people will watch a show that says,"come to the table, watch us shop for food, cook the food, decorate a table and then eat the food). What were they thinking? then to top it off with REPETITIVENESS>>> do that five times a week??? No way is this show going to last the season. I mean that sincerely. All My Children was not just a soap. It IS groundbreaking, entertaining, and has the best writeres around daytime television. it had something different FIVE Days a week.!!! NOW because of FRONS>>>>> Can I say DICKHEAD on this comment site??? He even stated that he did reasearch??? WHERE... WHERE did he do research ? All he did was say he had research ...what demographic group did he do his research on, (preschool kids or just Execs that needed more money).

How many talk shows ( or any other show, for matter of fact ) have run for as long or had so many loyal fans as AMC, Mr. Brian Frons???? Daytime tv is nothing but talk and game shows! Oh, let us not forget all the reruns that run over & over again. We put up with more ad time than show time because we love our soaps! Who is going to watch all your commercials, Mr. Brian Frons?? I assure you, IT WILL NOT BE ME! Tv viewers are about fed-up with endless commercials and now no AMC. Our soaps are the only shows we can watch all year long. We don't have to wait for a new season , we don't have to watch reruns for half a year, and, we didn't have to worry if our show would be cut. But, I guess you, Mr. Brian Frons, know what your viewers like better than your viewers do, uh? How could someone as smart you, BE SO STUPID?

  • Irene - 13 years ago

I have been watching All My Children since I was a teenager, my grand daughter is named Erica from the character that Susan Lucci has played. I have been sad since the day I heard the show was being cancelled. There are so many great characters on the show. I am really hoping that it gets saved somehow and we get to keep watching it. I will not watch the show that replaces it.

Keep fighting for ALL of your fans Susan. We love you and the whole gang.

I don't plan on watching ABC daytime after Sept. 23rd. I've been a loyal All My Children fan
since I was a sophmore in high school. I watched through college, marriage, & parenting. Cheered the invention of VCR's, SOAP network, then DVR's.
What you don't need, ABC, is another talk show or another cooking show.
    Poor management. Worse decision making.

  • Cathy - 13 years ago

If they had removed Susan Lucci years ago, the show might have succeeded. Ihave been fast forwarding her scenes for years.

  • Sarah - 13 years ago

People deserve quality, scripted television. Not all people want to watch reality shows and for many it is much more pleasurable to watch a well written and well crafted story.

I also will not be watching the show replacing the iconic All My Children.

  • Pat - 13 years ago

I think that the new show the chew should be on the food network and all the sports shows like foot ball, basket ball boxing wrestling and the races should stay on espn I & II
